Speaking of this travel business.
I do believe that if a person, or several, do travel they should continue to be careful and wash hands, use antibacterial wipes and wear their mask and they should be okay.
Also, what do you all think about this Pfizer vaccination stuff?

Don’t know much about the vaccine. Hotels and motels were practically empty and also doubled up...check into one hotel to stay at a nearby hotel that instructions were tacked to the door. Rooms were rented every other. I just moved to a different and older hotel rather than hopscotching from place to place. Everyone was masked up and/or behind a plastic wall. I bought packaged food, and bottled drinks that I poured into paper cups or my coffee cup...that Storm on the last two travel days drank her bottled water out of. It is not a convenient time to travel and the hotels motels gas stations and their personnel are going to suffer financially. I have noticed that grocery stores are void of a lot of items. This is only going to get worse as we go from disease to hunger. I am seriously thinking of going into hurricane mode and stocking up on canned goods as much as possible. It’s only starting to get worse.

I've been afraid of that very thing. The future bodes little good tidings, in my opinion.
Actually I've been mentally preparing for the worse; i.e. where are all the water wells close by. I used to work for the water dept.
My sister is the only one that I have to worry about living long enough to run into trouble.
That old witch said it, 'what a world, what a world'.

Many have different opinions on the so called virus, mostly it has lots of folks in fear and that is most helpful to the "controllers" who know that is is easier to control people in fear. Look at the maps and there is little virus in China, where it all began. Yet India, Europe, the USA have lots of cases. Well we are told we have case of viruses, and the govt officials use that the make people stay at home and some lose their hard earned businesses and even their homes. Keep them compliant and in fear. Yes if you have any number of illnesses ,heart issues, diabetes, cancer, obesity and many others the virus mat have serious consequences. On the CDC's own site , I believe it was over a month back the CDC stated that the chance of dying from the virus was about .01 % or in other words 99.9% chance of surviving the virus. The "official" stats at the time if I recall was about 100,000 US deaths, but only 9,000 were actual covid deaths. THat number is not even a high amount for a normal flu season. Yup the flu/cold also causes folks to die. That is especially true as with the covid if you are afflicted with the previous mentioned illnesses, heart, cancer etc.
Oh and also, if you do find the covid world map you might look around the world and see the so called hotspots and those that are not as with China and for some odd reason the continent of Africa, where approx 1.3 billion people reside and have lots of case of malaria, but not a whole lot of covid case nor deaths. They also use the HCQ for malaria, could that be a good reason for fewer covid related deaths, it actually works. Additionally in Sweden, where there was no lockdowns, nor masks......and few cases of covid virus.
Why is it Bill Gates wants to be involved in the virus vaccine, his vaccine for polio in India caused approx 450,000 people to be paralyzed. His program was asked to leave. His vaccines did not do to well in Africa also and was asked to leave. But where do the scientists get the aborted fetuses that are used to create the covid vaccine. Look it up. No vaccine for me please, I already had the covid, it was like a bad cold/flu. Of course the so called experts say the the virus is mutating, which is what all the viruses do.
Lockdowns and riots in Italy, France, England, Germany, folks have gotten tired of being told what they can't do on a daily basis and ot being able to visit loved ones..have a good one.

It is bullshit. Try actually investigating something before posting.

Hey, Mike. When you say it's all BS, are you referring to Itaglio55 or all the hoopla over the Covid virus. I'm no expert but there are some experts that have said the masks and lockdowns are BS. There is a smart guy on FOX named Mark Levin was talking about how everyone was saying masks and lockdowns were the way to go (Unless you're involved in one of those peaceful protests in Portland, et al). Only he pointed out the problem is we've been doing the masks and lockdowns for almost a year and here we are again. I think for what it's worth the average Joe/Joanna is at little risk from the virus. Those at greatest risk have some underlying health problems. And, being in my age group makes it even riskier. As for stocking up, I think everyone should have some all the time. Some food for thought (pun intended) is that average canned goods have a pretty limited shelf life. Folks might want to consider freeze dried canned goods. Shelf life is about 20 years. And, they are not bad tasting. And, don't forget TP. And, good luck on finding ammo.

The link I posted was referencing what I was referring to. It’s always best to stay on the safe side regardless of circumstance.

Traveling from Virginia to Florida by backroad wasn’t easy this trip. Hotels and motels were iffy. I avoid highways when I travel, so you just didn’t know what you’d run into. The one nice thing was reservations were not required nor needed. Places were not up to capacity, so if you checked in at a reasonable hour you were assured a good price. Rooms were rented every other room and the hotel parking lots were nearly empty, but personnel could be at a different hotel/motel, so it was very strange checking into a hotel that wasn’t necessarily the one you were staying at...and you found out by reading a note taped to the hotel/motel entryway where to go to check in...sometimes directions weren’t real clear, since staff assumed you were familiar with the area...and they were wrong. One nice thing was finding a place i normally wouldn’t stay at and discovering a great place with a stream running near the door to the room. In the late spring to early fall it would be awesome, but a bit too chilly to use the screen door/slider. Anyway, it’s probably best to stay close to home for awhile...which sucks, but it is a needed precaution in these times.

I missed the link when I first looked at your post. Your point is well made. The story looks like the Gates issue in India was over an HPV vaccine. Not the COVID virus. And, it sounds like your backroad route offered some nice options. I just hate that our elected officials seem to want to use a one size fits all approach to this pandemic without regard to collateral damage to the economy and individuals. Anyway, I wish everyone good health and safe travels.

We have to keep this thread from going "political." That said here is some info:

I've had extended family members who have had Corona. It was rough. I've acquaintances die of it. I've had friends give it to family members when they didn't need to and should have been a lot more careful. On the other hand I've one friend in his early 70s shrug it off in four days. But he was a SEAL, if something was going to kill him before a ripe old age it probably would have done it by now.

I've been seriously isolating for the following reasons 1) I'm taking care of my mom and making sure she doesn't need to mix with the outside world. 2) I HATE wearing masks but I think it is only polite and that however much it helps it is something we owe each other. 3) There's other bad things out there right now and I feel the need to look after my property and hers.

If it wasn't for mom I'd probably be taking more drives and getting out a bit more but not socializing much. I'm taking a bunch of supplements that are supposed to help if you come down with it. I work at home so this is all easy for me.

I don't think that doing any of this should be mandatory. I do think that the powers that be all across the western world have dropped the ball to a disgusting extent as have most medical practitioners. This is not restricted to party or nationality, it's a unified screw up that stems from overconfidence.

The effort to develop a vaccine is impressive and the results seem very promising but there should be treatments available early in the disease, we know how to do this.

I'm not going to go into all the details but you could check out this link -- https://www.youtube.com/c/USMLEOnline/videos -- there is a lot of good info in there, like maybe save your life info. I've been tracking a lot of this stuff since April and STILL few Drs are willing to talk about it. They are way too complacent. Here's another source, a pretty good write up -- https://drgalland.com/coronavirus-protection-protocol/ -- I don't think either of these guys are the be-all-end-all but it does show you that some are TRYING. Thank god. We have to educate ourselves because too many won't bother.

One thing I am going to watch: what vaccine is used in Israel and Japan. I don't KNOW that their decision making process will be better than the US or UK or any other place but they might be more motivated to make good decisions than we are. Will their vaccine choices be the best for us? I have no idea. But it will be interesting.
