Is anyone wearing protective gear against the Caronavirus? I keep my mask and gloves in my truck, especially for when I go to Wal-Mart, being in my sixties and with preexisting health problems. And what is your take on things as they stand?

Not as yet, we closed our borders to all but returning citizens a couple of days ago and any returning must self isolate for 14 days. Our total is now in the 30s and climbing (about 4.5 mil population)
Restrictions on indoor and outdoor events (100pp and 500pp respectively) Yesterday our bishops cancelled all masses and communion to house bound except in dire circumstance. I would expect other churches to do similar.
Other than that we are facing the same stupid hoarding as everyone else.

Les The English Language is weird. It can be understood through tough thorough thought though.
Speaking of hoarding, years ago when we started shopping at Sam's Club, I started buying things like TP, and paper towels in bulk. And, seeing some of the things people dealt with in catastrophic situations and since we had a basement, I just started keeping a bulk package or two in reserve of TP and paper towels and drinking water. My wife thought it was pretty funny and told all the family that when I died, she was going to stick a few rolls in my casket. But when the virus hit and the store shelves were bare, I just smiled.
I’m usually good for ten days or so. People in groups of three or more are crazy. I forgot milk, so I will be eating pancakes or scrambled eggs at breakfast for a few days. Things will be better when folks go back to work and annoy each other there.

Our government has just put a 4 level Alert System in place and as a country we are at Level 2. Therefore as an over 70 I am asked to remain at home as much as is possible. If you want to hear our PM here's what she says about it.
You know, I can hardly believe this pandemic is happening. Only one person had been reported ill in my little town ... They say. I wonder, especially since we are located with a major interstate. Les, my mother's church group has been directed to take communion at home. I personally will take thoughtful precautions on a daily basis. Like most folks I believe I'll stay away from groups and see if this monster will burn itself out. I wish all here a win. Last year this time I was in the hospital with flu and going through pneumonia at the same time and in quarenteen for 5 days. I believe I flat lucked out on that one. Well, hang tough you good group of LL readers.

Hi cowboys, yep still here, still kickin.. nope, no protective gear here except common sense.. only a couple cases in the whole county and none in my town, but then again, most everyone is doing what they're asked by city officials. It's not so hard for me as I hate being out in the cold damp weather in the winter anyway, but the other day it hit 63 so it was wonderful just getting outside with the doggies for a nice long walk. Naturally all my travel plans with my Greyhound group has been cancelled, bummer.. My grandson signed us up for all the bells and whistles for movies on comcast, which is great, but find myself graduating back to my reading.. it's my lifeblood.. the hubby goes into town about once a week just to check things out and will maybe hit the grocery store if we need anything So everybody out there stay safe and be good. Blessings and prayers to all of you :)
They were talking about you folks that live out west. Trump said you folks should rebound quicker. Quien(sp) sabe? Well, feel free to take at least a small precaution. Luck, P.

Got two trips planned, but I don't think its going to happen...Sad to see everything closed. I feel for all them people and the place of business. A lot of places may not be able to rebound. Went to a local park today and there must have been two hundred people there and no rest rooms, not even in the town....The small town of Harrison, Ohio looked like a ghost town...
Yes he did...I'm currently reading 'The Lonesome Gods' for my third read and, seemingly, I appreciate it more and seem to have a better understanding of this mans brilliance...Love it better this time. Its almost as if it grows on your self- being... I have more to read now since I'm temporarily without work for now...I'm retired but work part- time for The Cincinnati Reds in security..Love my job and hope for a part of the season to begin, but maybe not... Have a nice day...Happy reading!
I wear the sort of nitril gloves I use when dealing with fluids in my cars when I pick up stuff from outside the house. They get tossed as soon as I'm done with them. I keep a mask with me in case I get sick and may start to wear a bandanna when out in "public" ... the N95 masks seem to scare people. I don't get w/i 6 or more feet of others. I'll walk down the middle of the street if I have to. There's little traffic so that's not a problem. No one else comes in my house so I'm mostly concerned with stuff from the outside.
Unless it will spoil I just set it on my porch for three days, same with the mail. I wash my hands often and try to wipe down the most touched surfaces, the ones that I touch when entering the house, at least once a day. I'm starting to shower at night rather than in the morning so I don't carry anything into bed. And I have a separate set of clothes I wear when going off my property. I know several people who have had it (tested) and I know of several others who probably had it. One has died. Its a fickle beast. Sometimes it's just slightly miserable, sometimes it's a killer.
LA has seemed on the verge of an explosion for a couple of weeks but many of us are pretty anti social to begin with and few have to use public transportation. I greatly fear that its going to get into the homeless population and put them all in the hospital. So far so good but I dread the news every morning. We're all okay so far and I want to keep it that way!
I didn't know things were so similar out there like here. Same with Les and his bunch. It's kind of creepy. Like some B-movie. I also am keeping my distance. My house IS my castle. I keep my pistola handy, you can bet. Everybody should stay loose.

I really haven't changed my habits all that much. I'm mostly a solitary person anyway. I work overnight all by myself, but I use the same desk, computer, etc as one of the guys on days, so the first thing I do every night is wipe down the mouse, keyboard, desk, and chair arms with a Clorox wipe. I wash my hands a lot or use hand sanitizer. I go into Walmart or Kroger occasionally. Before this started I had never been one to use the wipe to clean off the cart handle when I got there, but I do now. I'm rarely within six feet of anyone else.
At a factory I used to work at we had 1200 employees. We used to kid this old man that worked with us. He'd been there 40 years. He'd wipe down the office every day with alcohol, and I mean everything. Well sir, we noticed he never caught a cold. So guess what we started doing! You better believe it.😁 That old boy had the best collection of railroad watches you ever did see, and sold me one for 150 dollars.
