"Taggart"

Finally finished reading Taggart. Good book. One of the few left that I hadn't read yet. I have read Trap of Gold in the past, and it seems like I have an audio version of that somewhere.
Beau, that was a neat story about Katherine Hepburn and the letter was cool, too. Just checked YouTube to see if the film was available there and discovered that there was a Scottish TV show in the '80s called Taggart. I did find the film, but it's dubbed into Spanish. Unavailable in my location on Amazon Prime.

If you want to read the one that was eventually written for Hepburn, read Kiowa Trail. I believe KATE Lundy was created with her in mind.

I know I've read that in the past, but it's been a while. I'll have to read it again sometime soon, and it'll be cool knowing that the main character was apparently written for Katharine Hepburn.

I purchased the French DVD release of this, titled "5000 $ Mort ou Vif" and thought it to be generally faithful to the novel, but not particularly good. "Hollywood" has generally done no good turns for LL in this respect, at least in earlier years.

I've yet to see "Blackjack Ketchum, Desperado" because I can't get past the silliness of the name change, and haven't been able to find "Kid Rodelo" yet. But in later years we've had some really fine films. I wish Tom Selleck would have made a few more in the vein of CROSSFIRE TRAIL.
