Just a quick question to see how the LL Biography project is coming along? Any idea on when it may be published? Thanks.

Sorry it's been so long since I have checked in here!

The beginning of Dad's Biography has already been released. It is the entire Lost Treasures project. Louis L'Amour's Lost Treasures is really the biography of Dad's professional life ... organized as it relates to his stories.

When I started the entire biography process I realized that there was no way to organize both the story of his life and the story of his career into one volume or even a series of volumes that told everything in order. The career aspect would be long and boring and would require me to reiterate the plots of many stories in order to connect the information relating to their creation.

On the other hand a series of short articles or postscripts immediately following the stories would work well. Under normal circumstances the best way to have organized this would have been to write the typical, "personal" biography first, then to have followed up with Lost Treasures. A few years ago the realities of the book business required a different plan, however.

Because we had not had a new title in several years, many booksellers were starting to grumble that they might reduce the amount of L'Amour titles on their shelves. Something new was required so I moved up Lost Treasures to first position.

The more personal typical biography is still in the works, though I've got another couple of projects (some of them Lost Treasures related) to finish up before I start writing. But there are hundreds of pages of professional, Lost Treasures, biography already out there to read.
