On page 149 second paragraph opening reluctantly they cast off leaving Paddy Lahey aboard.

The on page 151 7th paragraph( including dialogue) "Captain" val said "you AND PADDY unload the cargo".

Despite being left on the sunken boat Paddy has miraculously appear in St Louis.
